My name is Stephanie Ridgley and I have lived in Indianapolis since May of 1992. I'm originally from Goshen, Indiana. I started playing volleyball when I was in the 6th grade. I graduated from Purdue University in 1991 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics. I worked for 12 years as a programmer and project manager for a large information technology company. Recently I went back to school to become a nurse. I studied practical nursing at Ivy Tech State College in 2004 and became a Licensed Practical Nurse in the State of Indiana the first week in 2005. My hobbies include water/snow skiing, hiking/camping, playing with my dogs (39 KB), gardening, reading, crafts, decorating my house, maintaining IndyVOLLEYBALL.org, and playing volleyball (of course).
Most of what I have learned about volleyball in the city of Indianapolis I have learned since I moved down here. I live on the west side of Indianapolis, so I probably know more about places to play on this side of town than in other areas of town. There haven't been many comprehensive resources, until now, to find places to play indoor or beach volleyball. I'm hoping that this site will be helpful for those who are new to the city or even for those that already live here to learn about places to play. The site probably doesn't cover everything, but hopefully over time it will evolve and become a better resource. I would greatly appreciate any feedback about the site or any information that should be added.
